How does a warthog dig?

Warthogs do not dig burrows or dens themselves. Instead, they occupy burrows primarily excavated by aardvarks and, as such, are secondary burrowers or burrow users. Some warthog burrows can reach up to 6.5-13 ft or more in length. Although they do not directly dig their own, when in the burrows and wanting to expand them if needed, warthogs can use their tusks to assist in expanding some pre-existing holes.
