How to Make a Wood Pallet Dog Bed

A wood pallet dog bed is the perfect solution for those dog lovers who aren't wild about their dogs sleeping on their furniture or in their beds. It will keep your dog off the cold, hard floor and even add a bit of personality to its sleeping quarters. Built from supplies you may already have on hand, the wood pallet dog bed is an inexpensive project.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut your chosen fabric to 41 by 49 by 6 inches to allow for a seam allowance. If you want a little extra cushioning on your bed you can use poly-fill, egg crate or foam. Cut this to twice the size of the pallet (82 by 98 by 12 inches). This will allow you to fold the fabric over itself to create additional padding.

    • 2

Lay the chosen coverings over the pallet jacket. If you are using foam, egg crate or poly-fill layer the fabrics as follows: carpet remnant first, foam, egg crate or poly-fill next, and then fabric on top. Wrap the edges of all fabrics over the edges of the pallet and secure them with the staple gun on the bottom of the pallet.

Accessorize the bed with old throw pillows or couch cushions and watch your dog settle in for a good night's sleep.
