How to Use a Bite Collar

When your pet has an injury or has undergone surgery, bite collars protect the sensitive areas around the back, tail, chest, abdomen, genital area and paws. Choose a bite collar if you want your pet to have freedom to move and see without wearing the uncomfortable cone of shame. Proper sizing of the bite collar is essential if you want it to work effectively and be comfortable for your pet.

Instructions

    • 1

Choose the proper size of bite collar for your specific cat or dog. The best-fit collar will stretch between the ear and the top of the shoulder.

    • 2

Wrap the collar around your pet's neck until snug. You should be able to place your finger between the animal and the collar. You want it snug but not over-tightened.

    • 3

Use the Velcro and buckles to secure the collar in place. Bring the strap over the right shoulder, down towards the belly area, then up around the left shoulder. Buckle it in place on the top.

Hook your pet's leash to the hook on the top of the collar, when needed. There is no need to mess with their usual collar when the bite collar is on.
