Puppy Harness Directions

Taking your dog on daily walks is an excellent way to ensure that your dog gets the necessary exercise to grow up healthy and strong. While many owners attach the leash to their dog's collar, some owners might be concerned about the collar tugging on the dog's neck, especially if their dog is an untrained puppy. Using a harness spreads the force of guiding tugs around the chest of the dog, making for a safer and more comfortable control method.

Instructions

    • 1

Adjust the length of the front strap by sliding the buckle closer or farther from the body of the harness. The closer to the body of the harness the buckle is, the smaller the head opening will be. You can adjust, if needed, by holding the harness against your dog then sliding the buckle.

    • 2

Adjust the length of the belly buckle by moving the sliding piece.

    • 3

Open the harness by pulling the two points where the front strap joins the body away from each other, creating a diamond-shaped opening.

    • 4

Slide the opening over the dog's head.

    • 5

Buckle the strap around the dog's body.

    • 6

Adjust the front straps by sliding them along the body of the harness so they are snug beside the dog's neck.

    • 7

Attach a leash to the ring on the harness.
