Things to Pick Up Dog Hair

Dog owners love their dogs, but what they don't love is the hair that their furry friends leave on the objects they encounter. Picking up after your shedding dog can be a real pain, but it doesn't have to be. All you need to take control of this problem is learning the secrets of picking up pet hair and the items that can make this clean up task much easier.
  1. Vacuum and Attachments

    • Before investing money in pet hair removal products, try using household items first. One of these things is a simple vacuum. Vacuuming can be done on carpet, tile, wood, and many other types of floors. Use the vacuum's hose attachment to remove aby pet hair that's stuck to sofas and chairs.

    Lint Brush

    • The sticky, tapelike paper on a lint brush picks up pet hair. The lint brush can be safely used on carpets, hard floors, curtains, sofas, clothes or any other area where pet hair is present. Using a lint brush is cheap, very effective and portable.

    Rubber Gloves

    • Wearing disposable latex gloves is another option for picking up dog hair. Gently run your gloved hand along the area covered with dog hair. The fur will stick to the glove for easy hair removal. Any fur that doesn't stick to the glove will clump, making it easy to pick up and throw away. Using a dry latex glove works just fine, but slightly dampening the glove before use makes it a little easier for the fur to stick.

    Hook and Loop Tape

    • Hook and loop tape isn't just for holding things together, it also works as a dog hair removal tool. Rubbing the hook side of the tape over fur will cause it to stick. Remove the fur from the hook side of the tape and repeat as often as necessary.
