Blinking Lights for Dogs

Walking your dog every day can keep you both physically fit and mentally stimulated, even after the sun sets. Stay visible to motorists by attaching a blinking or flashing light to your dog's collar, similar to safety lights that runners or bikers wear. Blinking lights capture a driver's attention well before your dog crosses the car's path.
  1. Eddie Bauer Offering

    • The Eddie Bauer Dog Safety Blinking Light is a sturdy plastic red bone that contains two ultra-bright LEDs that are visible for up to one-half mile. It fastens to your dog's collar with a small clip. This light measures 2 inches by 2 1/2 inches by 1/2 inch, and may be too large for smaller dogs. It operates with an on/off switch and uses 2 AG-13 batteries which are included.

    Flipoblinker

    • Flipoblinkers are bright and flash with contrasting colors to maximize visibility. They are sized to fit your dog so the smaller pooch wears a size small. The bright LED lights rotate among two or three colors. Lightweight, this blinker is only 1/2-inch long with a 1 1/2-inch clasp. It operates with an easy on/off push button and uses three AG3 batteries which are included. The light is visible from one-half mile. The Flipoblinker easily attaches to any collar, leash, harness or zipper

    Glo-Bee

    • The glo-Bee is available in ultra-bright red or white LED and offers a choice of glow or flash. Using the flash setting helps to extend battery life. The glo-Bee weighs in at only 7 g and attaches to your dog's collar with an elastic loop strap. The outer casing is transparent to maximize the glow effect. Preinstalled batteries are included and replaced with CR1220 coin cells, one for the red and two for the white.

    Staying Safe

    • In addition to blinking lights, there are a variety of flashing dog collars available. These collars have lights embedded in the collars themselves, instead of being a single light attached to the dog's collar with a clip. Flashing collars tend to be more expensive than blinking lights.

Even with a blinking dog light, staying safe with your dog requires vigilance. Stay alert for oncoming cars, motorcycles, and bicycles. Be sure your dog knows basic commands like come, sit, and stay; good training can save your dog's life in an emergency situation.
