Instructions
Using Baby Diapers
Purchase baby diapers, keeping in mind the size of your dog's diaper garment. If you have a dog under 15 lb., purchase size 1 diapers. Purchase size 2 diapers for dogs 15 to 35 lb. Purchase size 3 diapers for dogs 35 to 50 lb. Purchase size 4 diapers for dogs over 50 lbs.
Cut the diaper in half at the bottom of the cut-out for the legs so that you essentially have 2 pieces of padding to use at separate times. Cut the tabs off the sides of the diaper.
Put the diaper garment on your dog. Slip the baby diaper half into the garment so that the most narrow end is nearest the tail. If the diaper padding does not extend to the waistband of the diaper garment, you have not purchased a diaper large enough.
Using Feminine Napkins
Purchase feminine napkins, keeping your dog's diaper garment size in mind. Extra long feminine napkins should only be purchased for dogs over 50 lbs.
Lay your dog's diaper garment in front of you lengthwise, with the waistband that goes along your dog's belly nearest you.
Remove the strip of paper protecting the adhesive on the feminine napkin. Place the feminine napkin on the diaper garment, starting at the waistband and ending at the tail-hole. Press the adhesive in place. If the napkin covers or extends beyond the hole, you have purchased a napkin that is too long and must purchase one that is shorter. You can cut the napkin shorter, but be sure to place the cut end nearest the tail hole.
