Things You'll Need
- Bucket
- Water
- Mild soap
Instructions
Replace the filter in your Drinkwell 360 water fountain if you're using one. For one-pet households, replace the filter every two weeks. If you have multiple pets or if your pet has a lot of saliva, replace it once a week.
Clean the fountain once a week. Disassemble it by unplugging the Drinkwell 360 water fountain and removing the flow control cap, spout ring and filter housing. Empty any water from the bowl and remove the cone, too.
Unhook the electrical cord from underneath the bowl by flipping it upside down and releasing it from the cord clips. You will now be able to remove the intake tube and pump. Set the pump aside to clean later.
Place all pieces, except the cord and pump, into a bucket of warm water. Add a few drops of mild soap and scrub the pieces gently with a soft cloth. Rinse thoroughly and lay out to dry.
Disassemble the pump for cleaning. Remove the intake plate from the pump by squeezing it on both sides at the same time. Find the stator. It's shaped like a tear drop. Place your fingernail underneath it and lift it out. Lift out the exposed three-blade propeller.
Place all of the parts you removed from the pump into your bucket of soap water. Use your soft cloth to clean them. A cotton swab can be used to clean smaller crevices.
Rinse the parts with clean water and lay them out to dry.
Reassemble the pump and the Drinkwell 360 water fountain once all of the parts are dry. The parts should be replaced in the reverse order that you disassembled them.
