Instructions
Measure your dog. Using your soft measuring tape, take your dog's measurements---not unlike a human, she must be measure in certain areas to determine her size. These areas include the collar, the length of the back and the distance from the flank to the back of the front leg.
Find a pattern for your dog's outfit. These are readily available both online or in collected volumes.
Determine the size of the dog for which the pattern is intended. The pattern may be designed with bigger or smaller dogs in mind.
Resize the pattern. This may entail either taking a printed pattern to a copy center where it can be reprinted at a different size, resizing the pattern on your own computer before printing or simply adjusting the measurements to suit your own dog's.
Use the pattern to cut your fabric into the appropriate size and shape. Follow the instructions that came with the pattern. This may include ironing on appliques, attaching Velcro or sewing on other accessories.
