Flea & Tick Repellent Sprays for Dogs

Fleas and ticks are not just a problem for a dog, when they invade a home, it become a pet owner's problem too. Many products are available to rid both dogs and homes of these pests, including sprays that provide effective flea and tick control.

    • Depending on the type of spray used, flea sprays kill, repel and/or stop reproduction of ticks, fleas, flea eggs and larvae.

    • Parasite control sprays are available for spraying directly onto a dog. Also available are sprays only for carpets or lawns.

    Effects

    • The sprays control flea or tick populations on pets and in their environment. Some of these sprays also kill or repel fire ants, roaches, spiders, lice, mites, mosquitoes, gnats and flies.

    • Sprays are a good alternative to constantly bathing and flea-dipping a dog, as well as for dogs who refuse to take oral flea and tick medication.

    • Not all sprays are safe for use on or around puppies, nursing mother dogs, pregnant dogs or dogs with specific medical problems. Consult a veterinarian regarding the best flea and tick spray to use in specific situations.
