How to Make a Pet Stroller Out of a Baby Stroller

Although small dogs have lots of energy, on long walks they tire out much faster than their owners. A pet stroller is one way for an owner of a small dog to have a long walk without having to carry their dog once it becomes tired. Although you can buy a ready-made stroller, you can also make one using a baby stroller that you pick up from a garage sale or find in the attic.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the infant carrier from the stroller frame of the infant travel system.

    • 2

Place the pet carrier onto the platform of the stroller frame.

    • 3

Mark the points where the frame and the carrier touch with a marker.

    • 4

Remove the pet carrier and make twin holes in the sides of the carrier through which zip ties can be inserted. For a hard-sided carrier, drill these holes with a ¼-inch drill bit. For a soft-sided carrier, snip holes into the fabric with scissors.

Thread zip ties through the holes that you just created in your pet carrier. Return your pet carrier to the platform of the stroller frame. Fasten the zip ties around the frame to secure it to the stroller.
