Instructions

    • 1

Turn off or unplug the main fence unit. This allows you to troubleshoot the fence without getting you or your dog shocked.

    • 2

Remove your dog's receiving collar for radio signal fence systems and turn it off.

    • 3

Replace any batteries in the collar or main fence component.

    • 4

Check the entire length of wire on above-ground electronic wire fences. The wire should be straight and unbroken. If the wire crosses at any point, causing two wires to touch, the fence will short out. Untangle any crossed wires. Replace any sections of broken wire as needed.

    • 5

Move any large metal objects out of the boundary of a wireless fence system. Metal objects interfere with the signal.

    • 6

Plug in and turn the fence back on to test the system. Put your dog's collar on for wireless systems only after testing that the system is now working properly.
