How to Set a Guardian PetSafe Collar

After placing an electronic fence around your property, you must set the pet collar. The dog must receive a warning ̶0;beep̶1; when he walks near the fence boundary and a shock if he attempts to cross the fence. The severity of the shock your dog receives is its ̶0;correction level.̶1; If this is set too low, the dog will ignore the shock and keep going. If too high, it will be more painful than necessary. The weight and stubbornness of your pet will determine the correction level needed.

Correction levels are as follows:
1 flash̵2;no correction, collar beeps only (use this for training)
2 flashes̵2;low correction (for dogs less than 20 lbs)
3 flashes̵2;medium correction (for dogs 20 to 50 lbs)
4 flashes̵2;medium high correction (for dogs over 50 lbs)
5 flashes̵2;high correction (for hard to train dogs)

Instructions

    • 1

Determine the proper correction level for your dog using the chart in above.

    • 2

Push the black button on the side of the collar. When you push it, the light on the front of the collar will flash once. Soon after that, it will flash again from one to five times. The second group of flashing lights tells you the number of the ̶0;correction.̶1; This is the level the collar is currently set at.

    • 3

Push the black button once and when it stops flashing, within five seconds push it again. The correction level will immediately jump up one level. Example: The collar is set at level 3 and you want to increase it to level 4. Push the black button. You̵7;ll see one flash, followed by three. Push black button again. You̵7;ll see one flash, followed by four. Keep pushing the black button, waiting no more than five seconds, to change the correction level until you reach the desired level.
