How to Make Homemade Flea Collars

Fleas are more than just annoying pests that cause itchy skin irritations. In addition to biting their hosts and leaving itchy red bumps, they can spread a variety of harmful diseases. Instructions

    • 1

Cut a small piece of Velcro, approximately 1/2-inch by 1/2-inch. Glue the Velcro pieces onto the ends of the flat rope. Allow the glue to dry before proceeding.

Blend the citronella, tea tree and rosemary oils in a glass bowl with a whisk. Soak the flat rope in the solution for 20 minutes.

Remove the flat rope from the solution and allow it to air dry. This usually takes about five hours.

Put the flea collar around your pet's neck and Velcro the two ends together.
