Instructions
Pull the gate out of the box and observe its different parts. The mesh netting is the black, cross-hatched wiring between the upper wooden beam and the lower wooden beam. The lock latch is the long, thin piece of wood that has different numbers and grooves on the top surface of it. The groove pin is the metal piece that goes into the groove that best fits your doorway. The sliders are the braces that keep the two top pieces and two bottom pieces of wood together when the gate slides.
Decide which doorway or opening you want to block. Slide the lock latch bar up so it is standing vertically. This will make the gate as compressed as possible. Once compressed, place the gate between the two sides of the doorway. At this point, there should be lots of space to spare on either side.
Fit the gate to the doorway with the lock latch still standing vertically. Use the grooves to lock the gate tightly in place. This step is trial and error. Starting closest to the high end of the lock latch, put the lock pin in the closest groove. Begin sliding the lock latch down. If the lock latch beam isn't completely horizontal and snug in the doorway, move to the next groove. Do this until you find the correct one.
Push the lock latch beam down and latch in place once you find the right groove. The gate should fit snugly in place if it is in the correct groove.
Place the animal behind the gate.
