Doggie Clothes Rack Ideas

You spend quite a bit of money on doggie clothes for your four-legged friend. Why not show them off with a rack that puts them on display? A dog clothes' rack can be an added conversation piece to your home. You can do a miniature people rack for your dog or use materials that are completely different than what would be used for a clothes rack. Either way, your dog's ensemble will look lovely hanging on any of these racks.
  1. Dog Racks Like People Racks

    • It would be a fun look to have a coat rack for your dog's coats and sweaters that is his size. Get a regular wooden coat rack for people coats and cut it down with a saw, then the rack can be sanded and bolted back together. To hide the spot where the two cut pieces join, nail wooden molding around it that is stained the same color as the rack. In this molding, screw in little cup hooks to hold the dog's hats and tie booties. This would make a conversation piece as it sits beside the front door. You can buy two of these racks and use one at regular size for your coats. The two together will look artistic.

You can also screw wooden pegs into a piece of wood. Paint this in the black and white pattern of a dalmatian, conveying these hooks are for the dog. Paint little bones all over the base of this wooden clothes hanger. Once done, hang it a little lower to denote it belongs to the dog and his clothes.

A quarter of a piece of thin plywood painted and stenciled with dog designs would make a great base for a clothes' rack. Screw wooden pegs into the wood. You can even stencil words over each peg such as coat, sweater and hat. The dog's name could be stenciled on this wood also. When done, hang it on a wall, and you have one central place to keep clothes and accessories for your dog. Leash and collar can hang here also.

    Different Ideas

    • Take an old piece of fish netting and hang it flush to the wall. Decorate it by gluing shell shells onto the material. Use this to hang the small dog hangers into the holes of the netting. It will make a nautical-themed netted clothes' rack.

Take a piece of garden wood lattice work and paint it to match your decor. Screw cup hooks all over the wooden lattice work and hang the small dog hangers on them. Hang the clothes without the hangers also. Stencil small dog-themed pictures on this wood, if you want to make it of the canine persuasion.

A doll clothes' rack will work for small dog clothes. A site that makes them is included in the resource section. The racks are sturdy and made for hanging the same size clothes. A wooden one could be painted and stenciled to convey it belongs to your dog.
