Instructions
Pick out a sock that will comfortably fit on your pet. This project works best with smaller breeds because even a large tube sock will generally be too small for a dog that weighs much more than 15 pounds.
Cut off the bottom of the sock using scissors. There should now be two openings, one on each end of the sock, for the head and the body.
Cut side openings on each side of your sock. The openings will be for the arms/front paws. You may want to use a fabric marker to mark the arm openings before cutting. They should match up with the distance between your dog's legs.
Hem the edges using a sewing machine after cutting. You can use a zigzag stitch to prevent unraveling, or a straight stitch if you are in a hurry and your dog is not particularly active. For a vintage look, leave the ends rough.
Decorate using scrap material. Use fabric markers, iron-on letters, glitter or sequins. Make sure that everything is fixed firmly to the outfit with plenty of fabric glue or glitter.
