Things You'll Need
- Fabric or bath towels
- Polyfill or pillows
- Needle and thread or sewing machine
Instructions
Find some extra fabric around the house that will be durable enough for a dog bed. If you do not have any fabric, find some old bath towels. Measure them out to be the size you need for your dog to comfortably lie down and sleep.
Trim the pieces of fabric or towels so that there is a top and bottom layer that are equal in size. Be careful when making cuts on fabric, especially if it's material you found around the house that cannot be replaced. Measure twice and cut once is an old carpenter's saying, and it applies here too.
Sew together the long sides and one end of the bed. At this point you should have a large cloth sack. Use a sewing machine or hand stitch, just ensure the stitching is durable enough to resist your dog's wear and tear.
Locate some extra polyfill (the cotton-ish substance used to stuff pillows) or find some old pillows you aren't using and pull out the stuffing. Push enough of this fluff into the bag so that it will lie down flat and the dog can quickly get comfortable.
Finish the bed by sewing the final side so that none of the filling can escape.
