Things You'll Need
- Scrap paper
- Plain fabric dog collar
- Pencil
- Faux jewels
- Sequins
- Hot glue gun
- Fabric glue
Instructions
Place a plain, any-colored collar flat on a piece of white paper. Use a fabric collar, as glue sticks more readily to fabric than other collar materials, such as leather. Trace around the collar on the paper with a pencil, then remove the collar from the paper.
Play around with small faux jewels, sequins and any other sparkly items you want to use on the collar within the tracing. Do this until you come up with a design you like. Use jewels or sequins only, mix and match, or stick to one color such as blue, pink or green. Create a colorful collar featuring numerous types of jewels and sequins as another option. You can also opt to stagger the jewels or sequins around the collar, or fill the entire collar space with jewels and sequins.
Use a hot glue gun or fabric glue to adhere the jewels and sequins to the collar as desired. Keep scrap paper under the collar while working to catch any falling glue or to wipe excess glue from the gun. Allow to dry for 10 to 20 minutes, then call your dog to place the collar around her neck.
