Instructions
Use your measuring tape to measure the size of your Chihuhua's feet. Measure the width across the widest part of the paw and the height from the ground to just above the bone that sticks out where the paw bends.
Draw a U-shaped pattern on a piece of paper. Make the size of the bottom of the U-shape slightly wider than the width of your Chihuahua's paw to allow for hemming room. Make the height of the U-shape slightly higher than the height of your Chihuahua's paw.
Cut the U-shaped paper pattern and pin it to the fabric of your choice. Cut eight identical patterns out of the fabric. The paper pattern saves you a step for making booties in the future.
Measure and cut a piece of Velcro to fit across the top of the "U." Sew the fuzzy side to one boot pattern cutout and the rough side to another. Stick the pieces together so you know they'll be on the outside when you are finished.
Sew the pieces together along the edges of the outside of the "U." Leave the top of the "U" open but sew a hem around the top. Turn the boots inside out so the Velcro to secure the boot on your Chihuahua's foot is on the outside and the seams are on the inside.
