- 4 1/2 yards fabric
- Scissors
- Thread
- Sewing machine
- Fiberfill
- Heavy-duty Velcro tape
Instructions
Lay your fabric on a flat surface. Cut out a 6-foot x 2-foot rectangle from the fabric. Fold the rectangle lenghtwise in half, with the outsides of the fabric facing in.
Sew around the edges of the fabric a 1/2 inch in from the edge, leaving a 4-inch opening through which to stuff the pillow. Turn the fabric right-side out. Stuff the pillow with fiberfill. Sew up the 4-inch opening. This will will serve as the bolster for the sofa.
Cut out two squares from the fabric, measuring 36 inches on all sides. Place the squares on top of one another, with the outsides facing in. Ensure that the edges are flush.
Sew around the open edges of the fabric, a 1/2 inch in from the edge. Match the edges, and sew a seam around the entire cushion fabric, a 1/2 inch from the edge, leaving a 6-inch opening through which to stuff the pillow.
Turn the pillow right-side out. Stuff the pillow through the 6-inch opening with fiberfill. Sew the opening closed.
Place a piece of Velcro on all sides of the top of the square cushion except for the front side. Place a piece of Velcro on the bottom of the bolster.
Attach the bolster to the square cusion, bending it to fit around the three sides of the pillow with Velcro.
