To many people who own dogs for pets, they are simply another family member and should be treated like one. This includes buying them gifts for special occasions. Depending on your personality, and your dog's personality, will determine what types of gifts might be funny for your dog. Outfits, treats, toys and dog houses are all excellent gifts for the canine in your life.

  1. Outfits

    • Shirts and outfits for your dog are gifts that can be both functional and funny. To make the shirt or outfit funny, find something that has a funny saying on it such as "Bow Chica Bow Wow" or "Bad to the Bone". The outfits can be funny in themselves also, such as a bathrobe for the dog or rain jacket and boots.

    Treats

    • Treats for your dog can also be funny by having a play on real food, while being delicious to your dog at the same time. Dog treats can be found that look like steaks, hot dogs, ice cream cones and cookies. Often times specialty pets stores carry these types of treats, or you could try to make them yourself out of a dog biscuit recipe.

    Toys

    • All dogs love to play with toys, and a funny toy will make it even more fun come playtime. Most dog toys come in two different types of materials, plush and rubber. Plush toys often times can have a squeaker or a button in it that makes noise. Toys with noise makers that say funny sayings like "OMG" or "LOL" make fun of texting sayings. While other rubber toys that are a huge rubber tongue with a ball on the end, huge sunglasses and lips are funny just by the way they look.

    Dog House and Furniture

    • Dogs love to be comfortable, and lounge around, so what better gift to give them than their own furniture or house. Funny dog beds that look like an animal will make you laugh and make your pet curious. Other funny pet beds are ones that are designed to look like a designer handbag. Houses for your dog can also be comical, but being in the shape of a fire hydrant or looking like a restaurant or hotel for dogs.
