Kong Stuffing Ideas

The next time you want to give your dog something to keep him entertained, give him a Kong stuffed with his favorite food. A Kong is a dog toy made of rubber. It is hollow and almost indestructible. Kong toys allow a dog to chew to try and get to whatever is inside the hollow toy. Stuff these toys with healthy food or even your dog's regular food and treats.
  1. Frozen

    • Take a ripe banana and mix it with about three spoonfuls of peanut butter with some cheese. Blend this until it's smooth and fill the Kong. Then freeze the entire thing until you're ready to serve to your dog.

      Plug one end of the King with a dog treat. Then, turn the Kong upside down in a cup and fill it with chicken gravy. Freeze the Kong.

      Take some mashed potatoes and mix with pasta, canned dog food and dry dog food. Freeze until ready for use.

      Mix a 16 ounce can of tuna with two tablespoons of plain yogurt and about 1/4 cup of shredded carrot. Take this mixture, place it into the Kong and freeze.

    Fruit

    • Take applesauce and pieces of cut fruit. Mix them together and freeze.

      Take blackberries, mix them with yogurt and stuff it into the Kong.

      Chop soft dried apricots into small pieces. Place one of these pieces so it plugs up the Kong. Mix the apricot pieces with yogurt, place into the Kong and freeze for at least two hours.

    Vegetables

    • Scramble an egg and fold in pieces of vegetables with the egg. Stuff this mixture into the Kong and sprinkle cheese into the top of the Kong. Microwave about 20 seconds and let cool before offering it to your dog.

      Take vegetable oil and warm it in a pan. Add a handful of fresh spinach, stir and put a lid on the pan for about a minute. Take the lid off, stir the spinach again replace lid for another minute. Remove the spinach from the pan and place it into a colander. Press the spinach into the colander with a spoon until most of the liquid has been squeezed out. Place dog food inside the king and stuff cooled spinach into the top of the Kong.

    Meat

    • Take a scrambled egg and combine it with beef, yogurt, mashed potatoes and cheese. Place this mixture into the Kong.

      Saute ground or minced beef until it's cooked. Add shredded carrots and tomatoes until most of the moisture has evaporated. Place the cooled mixture into the Kong and place a large piece of carrot into the large hole.

      Use leftover pieces of steak and place them inside the Kong. Then take about one ounce of cream cheese and spread it in the Kong, over the steak pieces to hold them inside.
