How to Train Your Stubborn Three Month Old Puppy

As adorable as they may be, puppies can sometimes be extremely stubborn and difficult to train. You have to make sure to train them from an early age. What many don't consider is that a puppy's hyperactivity can over time turn into aggression and bad behavior. Certain breeds, such as Afghan hounds or chow chows, are more prone to stubbornness than others. With time and patience, however, you can become the "alpha dog" for your puppy and earn the respect you deserve. Even the most difficult breeds can be trained to be wonderful and obedient pets.

Instructions

  1. How To Make Your Stubborn Puppy Heel

    • 1

Put a pinch collar around your puppy's neck whenever you take him out for a walk.

    • 2

Attach a lead of approximately 30 inches to the collar.

    • 3

Walk with your puppy in silence. If you start giving him commands this will confuse him.

    • 4

Pull slightly on the lead when your puppy starts to walk off in another direction.

    • 5

Repeat this technique a few times a day for two to five days. You will see great improvement in your puppy's heeling behavior.

How To Potty Train Your Stubborn Puppy

    • 6

Watch your puppy at all times. This can be easier if you section off an area in your house and keep your puppy within that area. An infant gate will work perfectly.

    • 7

Immediately pick up your puppy if he squats or begins sniffing the floor. Then, quickly take him outside. If he doesn't relieve himself in a couple of minutes, take him back inside and wait until feeding time.

    • 8

Take your puppy outside 10 minutes after he has eaten or drunk. He will surely need to go to the potty.

    • 9

Repeat this process for one or two weeks. Your puppy will associate being outside with going to the potty.
