Things You'll Need
- Dog food
- Separate bowls
- A bowl designed for fast eating dogs
Instructions
Feed your pet around the same time each day. If your dog has to wait too long in between meals, the animal may be starving and want to gobble up all the food as soon as it becomes available.
Purchase two smaller bowls instead of one large bowl if you have two dogs. If both dogs have to eat out of the same bowl, they may fight over the food causing one or both of the animals to eat too fast.
Serve your dog two small meals per day instead of one large meal. This will promote eating in smaller portions.
Invest in bowls that are made specifically for dogs that eat too quickly. These bowls break the food up into sections so it is not possible for your dog to put large portions of food in her mouth.
Buy a large case of the same brand of dog food so that you are not switching brands every time you go to the pet store. If your pet becomes confused over the change in food it may result in erratic eating behavior.
