How to Train Your Puppy to Use the Potty Park

The Potty Park is an indoor potty area where your puppy can relieve itself. It has synthetic grass inside a tray with a sub-floor, splash walls and a reservoir made from antimicrobial high density polyethylene. After the puppy urinates on the grass, the urine falls through into the reservoir, where a tub catches the urine. The tub slides out so the urine can be disposed of in a toilet. The Potty Park is a puppy-training option for people with hectic schedules who can't always stay on a potty training schedule.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the Potty Park where the puppy will not have any problems finding or getting to it all times.

    • 2

Use the training spray that comes with the unit. The spray is sprayed on the synthetic grass. The spray contains a chemical that will attract the puppy to the Potty Park to relieve itself. After spraying the grass, you are ready to teach your puppy what you want it to do. Apply the spray afterward each time you rinse or wash the grass mat.

    • 3

Place the puppy on the grass mat instead of taking it outside when it's time to go potty. For instance, if the puppy has eaten and is ready to go potty, place it on the pad and tell it to go potty. You may need to stand there for a while, as you would outdoors if you were potty training outside.

    • 4

Praise the puppy for urinating or defecating on the grass.

    • 5

Continue training the puppy to use the grass mat by placing the dog on the mat every time you want it to relieve itself. Over time, just as a puppy learns from training to go outdoors it will automatically begin walking to the grass mat to go potty.
