Training
-
Alsatians need consistent daily training sessions beginning early in life. Training must include discipline and socialization to avoid naturally aggressive tendencies. As a highly intelligent breed, Alsatians respond well to the control and training a responsible owner provides.
Respect
-
Establishing your superiority as pack leader does not mean disrespecting your Alsatian; it simply means the dog recognizes through your voice, actions and assertiveness that you are the master. Asserting physical discipline gains no respect, especially when working with puppies. Firm, verbal commands provide the Alsatian an opportunity to recognize tonal differences in your voice and associate them with positive or negative actions.
Socialization
-
Socialization and exercise help round out a solid training schedule. Alsatians should begin socializing with other dogs at a young age, as isolated puppies can become overly protective in the presence of other dogs. Going to the local park, visiting neighbors with dogs, or introducing new people and dogs to your home helps plant seeds for socially well-disposed adult dogs.

Training Alsatians Puppies
Alsatian, or German shepherd, puppies instinctively test human limits until the owner establishes alpha dog status. Training this particular breed requires appropriate conditioning to recognize and respect the pack leader through gentle, yet stern, voice commands.
