Instructions
Invite your neighbor over to discuss the problem in a calm, mature manner. Your neighbor might not even be aware of the problem if the dog barks while he is out at work.
Suggest things your neighbor could do to stop the problematic barking. Offer to check on the dog and walk him while your neighbor is at work. Give your neighbor the number of a local doggy daycare facility as a possibility. Suggest your neighbor meet with a behaviorist if the problem continues despite his best efforts.
Ask your local law enforcement officials what you can do if your neighbor is unwilling to resolve the situation. Many cities have laws requiring quiet between certain hours overnight, and your neighbor's refusal to stop his dog's barking could be a breach of that law.
How to Control a Neighbor's Barking Dogs
Constantly barking dogs in the neighborhood can be an annoyance. Whether you live in an apartment and have a neighbor whose dog barks all day while they are out, or in a house with a neighbor whose dog barks all night, there should be something you can do to help stop the problem. While you cannot directly control your neighbor's barking dogs, you can talk calmly to your neighbor about the problem and try to come up with a solution that suits everyone.
