How to Raise a Peekapoo

Peekapoos come from cross-breeding a Pekingese and a poodle, hence the name Peekapoo. This hybrid dog is considered a designer dog and was developed as a companion pet for people with allergies. Peekapoos were first introduced in the 1950's, making it one of the oldest hybrid breeds. It is a small dog, ranging from 4 to 20 pounds, and it is an affectionate and loyal pet. These dogs are gentle, but can be protective of their "family."

Instructions

    • 1

Crate train your Peekapoo starting the day you bring it home. Leave the crate open during the day so it has a safe place to nap, and never lock it in a crate for more than a few hours except at night when sleeping.

    • 2

Exercise your Peekapoo daily, as they are energetic dogs and love the outdoors. They will become destructive if they get bored after being stuck in the house for long periods of time without exercise.

    • 3

Feed your Peekapoo 1/4 to 1/3 cup of high-quality, dry dog food split into two daily meals.

    • 4

Brush your Peekapoo frequently, every day or two, with a slicker style brush and then a bristle brush. Comb out its tail as well.

    • 5

Bath your Peekapoo every few weeks using a high-quality dog shampoo and dry the dog off with a towel.
