How to Use a Pet Safe Shock Collar

Pet Safe collars are used to train dogs to keep their barking to a minimal noise level. The collars have an electronic device with sensors that detect the level of sound and vibrations of the dog's bark. When the bark is loud, the sensors cause the device to send out just enough of an electronic shock to cause the dog to stop barking. When used properly, your dog's barking habits will dramatically improve in a matter of weeks.

Instructions

Cut the hair on the front of the dog's neck with a pair of scissors if it is more than an inch long. The collar may be unable to detect vibrations if there is too much hair. Cut it down to ½ inch or shorter.

Unhook the collar and hold the sensor against the front of the dog's neck. Make sure the sensors are flat against the center of the neck.

    • 3

Hook the collar together to secure it in place. Make sure it's tight enough that it stays in place, but loose enough that you can easily fit a finger between the collar and the dog's neck.

Locate the circular battery module on the underside of the collar. Insert the side of a coin into the groove and turn the module counter clockwise until it stops. When the two small arrows line up, it indicates that the battery is turned on.
