Things You'll Need
- Silent dog whistle
Instructions
Place the opening of the silent dog whistle in your mouth and blow short bursts of air into the whistle. Have your dog within viewing distance to see if he can hear the whistle.
Turn the screw mechanism on the whistle as you blow short bursts into it. The mechanism adjusts the frequency of decibels the whistle creates. Watch your dog and see how he reacts to each turn of the screw and blow of the whistle. Stop blowing the whistle and turning the screw frequency when you find your dog reacts by whining or cocking his head to the whistle blowing.
Blow a long whistle blast when your dog is at a distance from you. With wind conditions, the sound may get carried away from your dog. Take a deep breath and continue blowing into the whistle until you have your dog's attention.
Blow short bursts of air into the silent dog whistle to get your dog to come to you. Yell to your dog, then blow quickly, stop, blow, stop and continue until your dog comes to your side.
