Bringing a new puppy into the house can be a wonderful experience. You have just given your family a new best friend for years to come. Unfortunately, training your puppy can be a challenge, especially when it comes to house training. Here is one of the best ways to properly potty train your schnoodle (schnauzer-poodle).
Instructions
Pay close attention to the times your puppy eliminates his or her waste. This is usually after meals, drinking, going for a walk, playing or nap time.
After each of these occurrences point to the door and in a high-pitched voice utter the word "outside." Encourage your schnoodle to head to the door and if this isn't effective, lift the puppy and take him or her outside.
Make sure you go out each time with your puppy when it is time. Reward your schnoodle puppy with a treat and a lot of praise after the deed.
Help control your puppy's potty regimen by giving him or her a scheduled feeding time. Place the food bowl in front of the puppy and allow him or her to eat. After the schnoodle has finished, take the bowl away immediately. Wait five to 10 minutes and then take the puppy outside to potty.
Never punish your puppy by rubbing his or her nose in a mess accidentally left in the house. Remember that your schnoodle puppy has a small bladder and cannot help but void several times a day.
