How to Remove Pet Stains With a Shop-Vac

Pets can be the love of your life. Cleaning up after them, however, can cause frustration and anger. For those pets that have yet to master the doggy door or are left inside during the day, knowing how to clean up their pet stains will be key to keeping carpet in good shape. Carpet cleaner and pet stain cleaner won't always do the trick. Using a shop-vac and club soda will remove the pet stain safely without any damage to your carpet or furry friends.

Things You'll Need

  • Club soda
  • Paper towel
  • Spray bottle

Instructions

      Remove all solid waste with a paper towel and dispose.

      Blot up liquid waste with paper towels and dispose.

      Pour club soda into a spray bottle. Secure top.

      Spray club soda over the pet stain until the stain and surrounding area are damp.

      Wait 5 minutes for the club soda to absorb into the pet stain and carpet.

      Attach the shop-vac nozzle to the shop-vac to clean up wet waste.

      Place the shop-vac nozzle over the pet stain. Turn the shop-vac on and suck up the club soda by pressing it over the pet stain.

      Repeat until all the club soda has been removed. The pet stain should be removed as well.
