In addition to coursework in your major, you will also need to take courses in English, math, physics, and social sciences. You should also gain experience working with animals, either through internships, volunteer work, or research.
After completing your undergraduate degree, you will need to attend a four-year veterinary school. Veterinary schools are highly competitive, so it is important to maintain a high GPA and gain as much experience as possible.
Once you have completed veterinary school, you will be licensed to practice veterinary medicine. You may then choose to work in a variety of settings, such as private practice, government, or academia.
