Why do Doberman pinscher dogs put there ears back?

Doberman Pinschers don't typically put their ears back. They are known for their erect, pointed ears.

There are a few reasons why you might see a Doberman with ears that appear to be back:

* Cropped ears: Doberman Pinschers are often bred to have their ears cropped, which means the tips are surgically removed. This can sometimes make the ears appear to be folded back, especially when the dog is relaxed or sleeping.

* Natural ear carriage: While most Dobermans have erect ears, some may have a slightly more relaxed ear carriage, with their ears slightly tilted forward or back. This is usually a natural variation and not a cause for concern.

* Fear or anxiety: If a Doberman is fearful or anxious, it may flatten its ears back against its head. This is a natural defensive posture in dogs, similar to how a cat will flatten its ears when threatened.

* Injury or infection: If a Doberman has an injury or infection in its ears, it may keep them back to avoid pain or discomfort.

* Breed Standard: The Doberman Pinscher breed standard dictates that the ears should be erect and pointed.

If you notice your Doberman frequently putting its ears back, it's a good idea to consult with a veterinarian to rule out any underlying medical conditions.
