While some animals have a more limited color spectrum than humans, they still perceive colors. For example:
* Dogs and cats: See primarily in blues and yellows, and have difficulty distinguishing between reds and greens.
* Horses: See more colors than dogs and cats, including some reds and greens.
* Birds: Have excellent color vision, often seeing more colors than humans can.
The idea that some animals see in black and white comes from the fact that they have fewer cone cells (the photoreceptor cells responsible for color vision) in their eyes compared to humans. This means they have less acute color vision, but it does not mean they see everything in shades of gray.
