Which animals have quills?

The most well-known animals with quills are porcupines.

However, there are other animals with quills, though they are not as commonly known:

* Echidnas: These egg-laying mammals native to Australia and New Guinea have quills that are similar in appearance to porcupine quills.

* Spiny mice: Certain species of mice, like the spiny mouse found in Africa and the Middle East, have stiff hairs that resemble quills.

* Hedgehogs: Though not technically quills, hedgehogs have sharp spines that serve a similar protective purpose.

It's important to note that while these animals have quills or spine-like structures, they are not all related and have developed these features independently through evolution.
