Dogs have two types of sweat glands:
* Eccrine glands: These are found on their paw pads and nose. They are responsible for a small amount of sweat to help with grip and regulate temperature.
* Apocrine glands: These are located in the skin and are primarily associated with the scent glands. They produce a thicker, oily sweat that carries a strong, individual scent.
Why dogs don't sweat much:
While dogs do sweat, they don't sweat as much as humans do because:
* They primarily rely on panting to cool down. Panting helps increase airflow and evaporate moisture from their tongues and lungs, which cools them down.
* Their fur insulates them from heat. Their fur acts as a barrier, preventing them from overheating as quickly.
So, dogs do sweat, but they mainly rely on other methods to regulate their body temperature.
