How to Decorate a Pet Grave

Instructions

    • 1

Drape a blanket over or near your pet's grave plot. This provides a safe place to arrange your memorabilia. If you have access to a small wooden cabinet or bookshelf, you may use it as part of the display.

    • 2

Arrange your pet's favorite toys around the blanket. A ball filled with cat nip or a thoroughly chewed dog bone lets you remember times of play with your animal. If your dog wore a bandana or sweater, fold it and place it on the grave site.

    • 3

Pour a serving of your animal's favorite food into a dish and place it on the blanket. You can also add chewy snacks and other treats to the grave.

    • 4

Frame your favorite photographs of your pet and build a picture memorial on the blanket. Include photos from early in the pet's life to embrace his youthfulness.

    • 5

Have a portrait of your pet drawn or painted. Once the portrait is finished, frame it and place it on the grave. If it comes out very well, use it as the centerpiece of your pet's memorial.
