How to Make a Puppy Chore Chart

New puppies require a lot of special attention and care, which often can be half the fun of having the little one around the house. The amount of attention they need can be overwhelming, and you may need to split up the chores between everyone in the family. Help your kids and yourself keep track of who needs to walk the puppy and who needs to feed it each day of the week by making a puppy chore chart.

Instructions

  1. Hand-Drawn Chore Chart

    • 1

Divide a sheet of construction paper into a chart with 48 cells. Use your ruler to create equal or almost equal cells -- eight across by six down.

    • 2

Label the cells. Start with Sunday and fill in the days of the week, starting with the cell second from the left. Fill in the chores in the cells along the side, starting with the second cell from the top. This will leave the upper-left cell blank. Include chores such as "Food," "Water," "Exercise," "Walk" and "Play."

    • 3

Assign each person a chore. In the remaining cells, use your marker to fill in the name of the person responsible for each chore on any given day of the week. This can be the same chore for a week or varied day by day.

    Pre-Made Chart

    • 4

Search online for a pre-made puppy chore chart. Sites such as Hoover Web Design, Free Printables, Nick Jr. and Chore Charts offer charts to print for free. Compare and contrast, and decide which is best for you.

    • 5

Print the pre-made chart. Confirm your printer has color ink if you wish to print the chart in full color.

    • 6

Fill in chore assignments. Use your marker to assign each person in your house a puppy responsibility.
