Contact your local Humane Society or animal shelter and rescue a Westie. There are many puppies and dogs that need a good home. Call or visit the Humane Society's website to see if they have any Westies available near you.
Contact local Westie breeders in your area or state through the Internet or by phone. Talk to the breeder to see if there are any available litters and how much the puppies cost.
Contact your state's National Westie Rescue. The West Highland White Terrier Club of America has set up the National Westie Rescue to find homes for rescued Westies. You will be able to save and adopt a needy Westie.
Search for Westies in your area from the website Pet Finder. Visit the site and select the proper criteria from the left-hand side of the screen: select "dog" as the animal, "West Highland White Terrier" as the breed and enter your zip code or city/state to view the Westies closest to you. You can narrow your search by selecting the age, gender and size of the Westie you're looking for.
How to Find a Westie to Buy
Westies, or West Highland White Terriers, are great small- to medium-sized dogs for a family. The Westie, known for its snow-white fur, weighs between 15 and 22 pounds and has a happy temperament and a strong will. They are very playful, great with children and devoted. If you're hoping to add a Westie to your family, there are several places that you can look to purchase one. However, steer clear from places that sell puppies from a puppy mill.
