How to Check a Dog's Avid Chip Registration Online

The Avid chip is a computer chip programmed with a number and injected under a dog's skin via hypodermic needle. The number programmed into the chip is unique to that dog and is read though the dog's skin (by using a radio signal) to identify that dog in the event of loss or theft. The chip allows a dog to be registered in a database (PetTrac) so that upon identification, the owner is notified immediately. If you found or lost a dog, or simply want to ensure your dog's registration is set up, you can check the registration online anytime.
