- Spray bottle
- Liquid fabric softener
Instructions
Use a can of compressed air to blow any fur on the dashboard, windows and doors out of the car or onto the seats and floor.
Wipe a dryer sheet across the upholstery of your car. The sheet will attract the fur and loosen it from the cloth.
Vacuum the seats and carpet with a handheld cleaner or use attachments on a larger machine to access the car's interior. The hair loosened by the dryer sheet should be easily vacuumed.
Run a specialized pet hair remover or adhesive sheet roller over the seats and carpet. This can pick up any stubborn hair left after vacuuming. Substitute a strip of packing tape, sticky-side out, wrapped around your hand if you don't have a roller. Pat the seats and carpet with the tape, replacing with fresh pieces as needed.
Wear rubber gloves with raised grips and run them under water. Shake the extra water from the gloves, then use short movements over your cloth seats to gather the fur. Reach into the crevices of the seats for hidden fur. Use dry gloves on leather interiors.
Fill a spray bottle with lukewarm water and a small amount of liquid fabric softener and mix well. Spray a fine mist over the carpet of your car to lift ground-in fur. Vacuum when dry.
