Instructions
Ghost
Measure your pet, and use those measurements to cut out a white cotton swatch of fabric from an old sheet. Make sure that the swatch is long enough to drape over your pet, and reaches about two inches from the ground, but no lower. A sheet that is too long could cause your pet to trip.
Drape the sheet over your pet, and mark where the eyes and nose are. Use scissors to cut out appropriate holes so that your pet can see and smell.
Use a permanent marker to draw facial features on the sheet, like surprised eyebrows over the cut out holes. When you've embellished all that you want, place the sheet on your pet and clasp his collar over the sheet to hold it in place. Make sure to that there is plenty of extra fabric in the neck and face so that your pet has room to breathe.
Tourist
Browse your local thrift shop for vacation wear, like loud floral shirts, or souvenir shirts with places printed on them. Look also for large, floppy straw hats.
Use cardboard to fashion a box camera. Just cut out six rectangles and glue them together to create a long, rectangular box. Cut a cardboard strip and curve it into a circle to place on the front like a lens. Color the cardboard camera with a black permanent marker, and attach a string to it to hang around your pet's neck.
Cut two holes in the straw hat for your pet's ears. Glue a piece of string on either side of the hat, so that you can tie it on your pet.
Pull the shirt over your pet's head and then tie on the hat. Hang the camera around her neck for the finishing touch.
Mummy
Use an old sheet or shirt to cut up long, 4-inch fabric strips. Use a fabric with a bit of stretch in it so that it can move with your pet and not bind him in any way.
Wrap your pet with the strips starting with the backside and moving up through the torso. Leave spots peeking out for a more ghoulish effect. Each time you come to the end of a strip, use a safety pin to secure it to the end of a new strip for one continuous strip of fabric.
Wrap all the way to the head. Leave the ears, eyes and nose free, and tuck the remaining fabric into the collar and pin with a safety pin to keep it secure.
