Instructions
Choose a date and location for the dog walk event. Make sure to plan it far enough out to provide plenty of advertising time for your dog walk fundraiser.
Decide on the fee for walking a dog. For example, for every dog registering in the walk, you might charge a $5 donation.
Decide what you will provide the walkers. Contact a local company to see if you can possibly have some T-shirts or buttons donated. If not, make up certificates on your computer to give to each participant.
Organize a refreshment stand to make some extra money. Decide what you will be serving and what prices to sell items for. Make a poster board with item list and prices.
Contact local newspapers to run ads. For a fundraiser event, they may likely place the ads free of charge. Advertise in your area and surrounding towns as well.
Contact local businesses and ask them to hang up a flyer and maybe make a mention of the event on their website if they have one.
Set up a registration table on the day of the walk. Have all walkers register at the table and then point them to the refreshment stand. Selling dog dishes and bottled water might be a good idea for the refreshment table.
Go for a walk, enjoy the day and then count the money you have raised for your animal shelter.
