Instructions
Gather a few supplies and stick them in a doggy fun box. Make sure these items are things you don't mind getting chewed or slobbered on. Some good doggy fun items are old socks, bubbles, a flashlight, old gloves and an old shoe.
Throw an old sock around the house and play a game of tug of war when the dog brings it back to you. Throw in a minor game of wrestling, and you can keep the dog entertained for hours.
Grab a large blanket and hide your foot or hand underneath it. Move it slowly until it grabs the dog's attention, and then move it fast, grabbing at the dog occasionally. Small dogs especially love this game, and their small mouths decrease your chances of getting bit.
Put the dog on a leash and take it for a walk. This works well if you already run or walk on a regular basis. If walking a friend's dog makes you uncomfortable, invite some kids over and let the dog play in the backyard for awhile with the kids.
Shine a flashlight on the walls and ground when it gets dark. Many dogs like chasing around the beam of light and will play this game for hours. This is a good game you can play while watching television at night.
Relax with the dog by lying down and petting it. There isn't a dog on the planet that doesn't like attention, and setting up a blanket and pillow on the floor will invite the dog to lie down and let you pet them.
