What sound does warthogs make?

Warthogs make a variety of sounds, including:

* Grunts: These are the most common sounds, used for communication between individuals and groups. They can be short and sharp, or drawn out and low.

* Snorts: Used to express alarm or aggression. These sounds are often accompanied by tusk-grinding.

* Whistles: This high-pitched sound is used to attract attention, usually from a distance.

* Chirps: A short, sharp sound used to indicate excitement or playfulness.

* Screeches: These are rare but can be used to express pain or extreme distress.

Interestingly, warthogs don't actually "oink" like pigs. Their sounds are generally lower and less melodic.
