Things You'll Need
- Professional quality photos
- Agent
Instructions
Train your pet. Basic manners will go a long way to ensuring your pet's safety and comfort on set, as well as making sure she always gives the best impression. An animal that can settle calmly in busy surroundings is less likely to be stressed and will be a welcome addition to a studio set. Additionally, sometimes companies will be looking for animals that can already perform specific tasks.
Build a portfolio. A professional portfolio is the first step to any successful show business career, human or animal. You don't have to hire a professional but you do need to make sure your photos are professional quality. You should have head shots, full body shots and shots of your pet doing something that shows his personality and makes him stand out.
Find an agent. Some talent agencies specialize in animals. Search online. Contact regular talent agencies to see if they can direct you to one that specializes in animals. You may have to look outside your immediate location and be willing to travel. After you've found an agent, show the agent your portfolio and present what your pet has to offer.
Enter contests. There are a bevy of contests out there for pets. Winning one may get the attention of an agent or company looking for pets to advertise a product. Search online for "cutest pet" contests or pet talent contests. Sign up for newsletters for your favorite pet products and follow them on social media websites to learn about contests.
