How to Make a Floral Dog Collar

Everyone wants their dog to look its best, and making your dog a fun and fancy collar is one way to do this without squeezing them into a sweater or hoping a hat will stay balanced on their heads. Get ready for spring by adding some flowers to your dogs collar. With some fake flowers from your local craft store you can create a seasonal decoration that you can add or take off your dog's collar whenever the mood suits you.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut a piece of plastic into a small circle that is a bit wider than your dog's collar. Poke two holes in the middle of the plastic using scissors or a hole punch. Thread one ribbon through these two holes. This will be how you attach the flower to your dog's collar.

Heat your glue gun and have extra glue sticks ready in case you run out.

    • 2

Cut a piece of felt so it will completely cover the plastic disc. Carefully pull the flower petals from their plastic stems.Take a needle and thread, and, using a simple stitch as if you were sewing a button into place, sew the petals onto the felt circle.

    • 3

When you are satisfied with the number of petals you have sewn onto the felt circle glue the felt circle onto the plastic disc using a hot glue gun.

    • 4

Tie the ribbon around the collar and secure it with a tight knot.

    • 5

Repeat steps 1 through 4 until your collar has the desired number of flowers on it.
