Finger and Paw Painting
-
Create a work of art with your pooch by making a finger and paw painting. Buy a few colors of finger paints from a craft store, as well as a large piece of blank paper. On a sunny day, lay the paper on the grass outside. Pour some paint in a flat plate and carefully dip one or two of your dog's paws into it. Invite your dog to walk across the sheet of paper, leaving colorful footprints all around. Just be careful that the dog doesn't jump up on you and get paint on your clothes. Add your own marks by making hand prints around the painting, too. This project can also be done with just one paw and hand print on a smaller piece of paper.
Stepping Stone
-
Create a stepping stone for the garden with your dog's paw prints. Buy some quick-drying concrete and mix it according to the directions. Pour it in a mold, such as a round plastic container or square pizza box. Knead the mix so that there aren't any bubbles and flatten it out with a trowel. Now allow your dog into the space and together create imprints on the concrete before it dries. Gently press your dog's paw on the surface for a print and use a stick to write both of your names. Let the creation dry overnight and take it out of the mold the next day to reveal your garden stepping stone.
Portrait
-
Create a portrait of your pet while also teaching it the valuable lesson of "sit and stay." Situate the dog in a comfortable area, such as on a pillow in the house or in the grass outside. Set up an easel or table nearby and begin making a portrait of your pooch. Use a pencil and paper to draw the dog and color the drawing in with paints, or sculpt your pet's likeness in clay. Keep your dog involved throughout by talking to it and giving it treats for good behavior.
Picture Scrapbook
-
Let your dog express itself and showcase its world with the help of a pet's point-of-view camera. These devises are made especially to fit around the animal's neck and be worn throughout the day. One of these cameras, the Pet's Eye View, can be programmed to take photos every one, five or 15 minutes, and can store up to 40 pictures at a time. Buy one for your dog and let the camera snap some shots from its day. Print out your favorites and create a photo album or scrapbook for your pet.
